    Just had to let you know about this fabric! It's beautiful, I've been to their sho in Amsterdam and met Rudolph who is the designer - he's so interesting and such a character; the fabric is like nothing else I've seen. It has a glaze on it at first but this disappears with handling - he says there's no need to prewash. It looks expensive at first glance but it's wider than usual so worth a treat!

    Enjoy http://www.dutchquilts.com

    Happy sewing!

    Is Chintz that shiny fabric? If so, I bought a huge box full at our Habitat store for 1.00. I've made quilts with it and they're beautiful.

    yes, it starts off shiny which, if I understood correctly, is a finish caused by the production process, but the fabric from Den Haan loses this finish as you work with it.

    Lucky find, Sondra! Have you got pictures to show?

    Yes Sula, the blue and white in my delft quilt (on the Picture post) came from there; I started a paper pieced stars made of hexagons wall hanging with some of the prints but I'm not pleased with the way I've joined the blocks so it's waiting to be dismantled and reworked :evil:

    I've also got a couple of metres of blue and white which I got in the shop as a second - the mistake is tiny and it was half price! And a few FQs in the red print on cream ground, oh and 5 metres of a printed border (those are FAB!);

    I'm going to Amsterdam again in early March (there's a big quilt exhibition in Holland I want to visit) so I'll probably get a bit more fabric! The shop is really worth a visit if ever you're in Amsterdam!
