I thought this was a fun idea if you want a break from just quilting. I think these would be adorable put into a small shot type glass or any yard sale container that would work. Cute little gifts and a different technique from the ones posted a few days ago which I plan to try.

It's funny you should post this. I'm in the process of felting some wool yarn I have leftover into wool dryer balls and wool pincushions. It's fun. My balls are solid colors. I don't care of the multi-color look. I ball the yarn up as if I were going to knit it, put it in the stocking, wet it (I don't use soap) and put it in the dryer with a load of clothes. If I don't have any clothes going in the dryer, I wet a couple of kitchen towels to run with them. It's a fun project.

Those wool dryer balls are the Best ! Daughter gave me several and I love them. No noise coming from dryer when you use them--they are fantastic--earth friendly items !

I learned a similar but different method. We used strips of recycled wool coats, rolled them into wheel shapes, put them into the stockings and threw them into the washer, then the dryer. They come out round and flat, but I love her idea of gluing them to a base. They could be wrapped with roving for artistic value too!
