Default How did I not think of this?

Was browsing u tube tutorials. Watched one and the girl doing it, was sewing tubes of fabric, to turn inside out for bows. After she sewed it up, she inserted a long wooden spoon, not the spoon end, into the tube. She then pressed the seams open along the length of the seam, with the handle underneath. I gave it a try and was happy with the results, when I turned it out, it was flat and did not bulk up and it did not twist as I have had it do in the past. Give it a try, a great way of pressing.

If you don't have a good quality long handled wooden spoon, it will cost as much as the strip stick. But I have a wooden spoon in the kitchen that will be great to use. Thanks for posting this.

I think the girls name is PattyDoo, if you search, it would be the one doing the cell phone cover. The spoon I used was one from the dollar store, package of three, longest one. I wouldn't call this a good quality, but it worked great.

    Would wood dowelong also work?

I have used some of the round/ cylinder pieces of my kids' wood block sets for pressing.

You are ahead of me here, I never heard of the strip stick until I posted this. The wooden spoons do work and work well.

They would work well, as long as they go down the inside of the tube.
