Wow! Just what I needed right now. I am working on a challenge project that is dragging me waaaay outside my comfort zone and I have been agonizing over my own inadequacies. Thanks for the link QuiltnNan!

When I made a quilt for someone in the past I used to point out where it went wrong in the process. I don't do that anymore for two reasons. First, the quilt was made with love & will serve the purpose of warmth & comfort & joy. And second, the one receiving the quilt would have never known or noticed the imperfections of the quilt they received from me had I not told them. They aren't looking for a perfect quilt...just a gift of love.

I wish I remembered who on the Board has a quote on their responses that (me paraphrasing) basically says aiming for perfection stifles creativity, aiming for excellence opens the doors to creativity. Wish whoever has that would speak up as I wish I'd written it down.

Great article and a great reminder to me - sometimes I procrastinate on a quilt because I just know I can't make it perfect - I work constantly to get over that. This article really helps.
