    Default A Little Quilt History...

I was just browsing around this morning while enjoying my coffee and came across this site: http://www.womenfolk.com/historyofquilts/ I enjoyed reading her short history of quilts and some of the stories and a few misconceptions about quilts in the US. Good reading...enjoy!

Glad to be of service. I found it interesting that some of our most treasured, historical, "recollections" about quilting are just myths. The author helped me realize just how hard life was in those early days and that most women didn't have the time, or the financial resources to enjoy quilting like we do today. Some of those pioneer women lived in mud and stick dug-outs! We're very fortunate.
