    Default MSQC Bear Paw Quilt

    Jenny just posted a Bear Paw quilt. Instead of piecing triangles, the units are " snowballed" after chain piecing. Looks like fun!

    it looks like a good method to make the block. i'd probably use my june tailor quarter cut [slotted] ruler to cut those original squares.

    I like watching her videos. I wonder does the block look the same as the other method, something looks a little different to me in the finished block ?

    The overall shape is the same but the shape of the pieces are different depending on which Bear Paw traditional pattern you use. Some Bear Paw patterns start with a large square in the center with the little triangle "claws" added.

    yes, I see that, but something still looks a little bit different with that middle set of triangles coming off the larger square. I see overall it looks the same. thanks for posting this

    I don't really care for the scrappy look with all the different fabrics. I have only made bear's paw blocks with two fabrics plus the smashing.
