They need someone to identify this quilt!

(My DH called me over to the computer to check it out!)

I saw this too. There is a thread already started about this. Let's home somehow that quilt gets identified for the family's sake.

I pray they will find her killer. How sad... That quilt is distinctive, though. I'm sure the maker would recognize it.

They need to look at that quilt really closely. My great aunt made a quilt with large squares like that. One of the squares was a very cleverly sewn pocket with a small opening that had a label inside. The label may also be sewn into the border with a lighter color thread or even into one of the corner squares. They may need to use a flashlight with an led to see the label. They also need to check for the same things on the back of the quilt. The label may be tucked in like a flap.

I posted this on my Facebook page! Surely there are others who know this quilt! Especially, those who lived in that area around that time.

So sad that the police waited 25 yrs to release this ..........I cannot justify in my mind their reasoning for doing that......questions in my mind----where was she found covered in this quilt? In her car?

Absolutely stupid that the police did not release the photo of the quilt 25 years ago. So they kept the method of death a secret that is fine. But they would have had a better chance of someone recognizing the quilt back then. The person who made it is probably deceased by how. What a shame. It is simple pattern, made by a novice quilter due to no design of the light and dark squares....it looks to be a small quilt...the photo the police released did not have a reference size....they could have put a cup, or pen or something on the quilt. Also I wonder if they checked the quilt recently for DNA. Seems like they could have done more with this piece of evidence.
