    dumb question . But what do you do with the back if sashing is on front?

    Pick a fabric you like. Have enough for backing. think of the sashing on the front as lattice. Hope this helps.

    For sashing you could sew the strips to the backside of the blocks. Then, sew the strips together (right sides together) fold each strip in half and either hand stitch or machine stitch (top stitch) the sashing to each side of the blocks. You would need to sew long strips when connecting rows, using the same method
