Here are selected excepts from today's amazing website news story at ABC's Channel 2 Green Bay (find the full story here http://www.wbay.com/Global/story.asp...type=printable):

They're known as the Camo Quilters volunteers from all over Wisconsin who meet in Plymouth to make quilts for troops overseas. But this weekend the project takes on a whole new meaning. It started with just one.

    -----------

Hundreds weaved into 2,200 quilts during three-and-a-half years...

    -----------

"My name is Sergeant Krueger. I am with the 467th combat stress control unit."

Kiel's Staff Sergeant Amy Krueger had already received her quilt when she left for Fort Hood, Texas.

Two days later she died in the Fort Hood shooting, what remains is Amy's word and one last request.

Wieck says, "We will be stateside until approximately the beginning of December. I am not sure if it would be possible to make 45 blankets before then."

    Possible it is.

Wieck says, "Today is dedicated to Amy. All of the quits have a little ribbon in the corner that are marked for Amy."

More volunteers than usual show up ironing, sewing, and measuring with urgency, 45 quilts at the request Staff Sergeant Krueger for her remaining unit set to deploy overseas next month.
What an incredible way to honor our troops...small as it is compared to their sacrifices!
