Unhappy New Here and to Bernina

Hi, I just purchased a Tula 570 with embroidery module. I am having trouble downloading the ARTLink 8. Is there any other program i can download to edit and download new images? The ARTLink wants to open in my photos app. which just says "loading". I am PC dumb as I use only an ipad. I have the free design disc that came with the Bernina and another disc for quilting with your hoop. I am just lost as to what to do next. I love sewing on the machine and using the embroidery features, just wanna expand on designs

The Bernina website is extremely helpful. Good luck and welcome.

You'd have to doublecheck, but I'm pretty sure ArtLink is a computer program only, not for mobile devices.

It's highly unlikely to work on an ipad. And you should check whether the program is mac compatible or only pc. Most specialized software is only pc

Loriannh, I wanted to welcome you to the board.

I don't do any machine embroidery myself but I do have a Bernina. I find the website ok, and their video tutorials very good, but at least for my machine, the manual isn't much of a help. I mostly watch videos from them and others when I have an issue.

It is sounding to me like you need more computer than you have, I did a search on "computer requirements bernina artlink 8" and got this about Apple:
    https://berninaofamerica.zendesk.com...Apple-products
    Bad link/missing info for PC.

edit: Wanted to say, you will still be able to do many wonderful things with your machine even without this program. But if you wanted to digitize your own photos and things, you will need more computing power than you have.

    Hi and welcome!

What device is the software on? Where are you downloading the program to on the computer? Make sure it is in the right place and not in a sub-program (like the photos). The program should open on it's own not in the photo program.

I don't know your specific software, however, you would simply open the program and then "open" the design you want to work on. In the "open" tab, you need to know where the design is stored. This could be the downloads, a CD, another USB, or any other drive that you use for designs.

Typically, designs are transferred to the USB and then to the embroidery machine. You don't need to have software unless you are changing the design in some way like size, etc.

I keep 2 separate hard drives. Designs are downloaded from web-site and then categorized into proper files. I also list them on excel sheets and put in a notebook. I can check over them when deciding on a design or looking for something specific.

    Hope that helps!

Welcome to the QB! from SE Michigan. My embroidery machine is a brothers and it too has software that is pc compatible. I have had to up date it a couple times with Brothers. Now I use a pc. Check with Bernina, they are going to be your biggest help when it comes to their software. I am so glad you decided to join us here and glad you jumped right in. I am looking forward to seeing you here often. Again welcome to the QB!
