Default 2nd attempt at border.... would love your feedback!

I am making a quilt for my daughter's Girl Scout Troop Leader. I started a thread a couple weeks ago looking for feedback on the border fabric I was planning to use, and received very useful feedback.

    (Original post: http://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1...s-t260004.html)

As a result of the feedback I received, I started to create a different border. I have one side done, and can't decide whether it goes with the quilt. I would, again, love any feedback or suggestions you're willing to share. It is a Rick Rack border (from Quilting Cache), and I would plan to outline the Rick Rack border with a thin black border. You can see both in the attached photo (but neither border is sewn on yet). I'm planning to continue with the two borders around the whole quilt. The Rick Rack border will probably be pink/white all the way around (although I might be able to make each side a different color if I have enough of the other colors left).

Thank you in advance for all suggestions/comments!

I like the border the way you have it. I especially like the red and pink in the rick rack. I think it would look great if you make all sides the same. Let us know what you decide. Your quilt is beautiful.

I love the rick rack and black border, I would use that color on all sides.

I like it just as it is now. If it were mine, I would leave just that one side on and bind the whole quilt in black.

Your rick rack border is lovely and a great addition to the quilt. I think it emphasizes the fact that it is a GIRL Scout troupe. I know it is a lot more work but I think it will complete the quilt beautifully.

    Default I've decided....

Thank you all for your feedback. I decided I want to leave the pink/white border, however, I felt it would overwhelm the quilt a little bit too much. After playing with the border a little more, I stumbled on a layout that grabbed me from the get-go. Picture is below.... I'm off to sew and complete the final border.

    Thanks again for your comments!

I like this! The first looked good & would have worked but I think you are right. This is better. It looks as if your inspector likes it too.
