My iron upped and stopped heating mid project today! It was working fine this morning, then I left for about an hour, came back and it had stopped heating up.

Is there any way to press sewing seams without an iron? Or can I just go through without pressing period?

Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks!

finger pressing works pretty well- i have a wooden iron i love and use alot- it is just a piece of sanded smooth wood with a wedge type end= it works so well- i think it's an Elenor Burns product- but finger pressing works well

I'd have to stop sewing. I can't sew with pressing.

I took apart a spring-type clothespin and use one half for a wooden iron. Has a slanted edge and everything and it's cheap. Works surprisingly well.

1/2 of a spring clothespin works very well at finger pressing

I've used the finger method many times.. but when traveling I've been known to use my ( hair) curling iron to press a few things....

I'm not sure I could sew without pressing either. I have the wooden thing like Eleanor Burns, but my opinion is that an iron can't be beat... I'd use it in a pinch though.
