    Default Baby Items

My nephew is turning 1 in a few months. He is the only baby in the family, and as such, he has already received 4 quilts from me in various sizes and themes. I made burp cloths and a Mickey quilted book of sorts. I am looking for some homemade quilty style gift ideas for his birthday (or upcoming future birthdays) that are not actual quilts. I am starting to look up information on "quiet books", but think this may be more appropriate for when he is 2 or 3. What other things have you made the babies in your life?

I've made my granddaughter some of those cloth books that are a panel you cut out and assemble. She loves them and they're really fun to make.

Default Pictures of Tissue Box Cover

    Here is a picture.
I was inspired on New Years Day by our LQS to make this and several
    Easter covers and mini runners.

Maybe some "fabric" toys? In different shapes and colors? He can have fun while learning his colors and how to count?

I have made stuffed bears and dinosaurs and they were much loved on for a long time. In one instance I was told the very young baby kept that bear with him through high school according to his mom. That was a delight to hear.

There is a new floor quilt panel that has roads for using matchbox cars on.

How about a picture book of all the relatives faces? You could use pictures of different members of the family and use small quilt blocks to frame each picture. In between the pages. Put crinkle fabric or a squeaker to keep them interested. Maybe a picture of houses where the parents grew up. Just an idea!

    Have fun with that grandchild!

Take 6 inch blocks, quilt them and make a 3- D block. Unfortunately, I forgot to take photos. Each side can be a different pattern of block.

I have recently seen fabric balloon covers. They make balloons safe for little ones without worrying about them swallowing busted pieces
