• Here are the prices at a shop near me. Do you have one? Which do you have and do you recommend I buy one? I currently have a Husqvarna Emerald. These prices seem enticing enough to encourage a purchase. I've never felt the need to spend a lot of money on a machine when my current one is working just fine...

Is it just an urge to have something new, or are there features you are needing.
I love having a needle down feature, thread cutter and large harp for quilting. I wanted to have the overcast and applique stitches.
What do you work on that would require a new machine?
I personally prefer the quality of a more expensive machine.

The Anna is a great, basic machine and worth the extra bucks over the BL9.. the other 3 are also very nice with proven track-records so you can't go wrong.

I have the Sophia2 with embroidery module and I love it. It is my take to class machine if my featherweight doesn't have the features needed. I do have a Bernina 440QE for heavier sewing but as a second machine I love BabyLock. I will say again, however, a machine is only as good as your service department!

If you don't have a back up machine then buy one. I'd buy the higher end model that was on sale.

I hear the anna is good for heirloom sewing and the rachel is nice. I am not as familiar about the others but I have always loved my brother/babylocks

About a year ago, I bought the Amelia for a friend who needed a new machine. She has used it a lot and loves it.

Someone suggested purchase one if you need a backup machine. It is always nice to have a backup in the event your primary machine needs servicing. You really don't want to be without a machine very long.
