I'm wondering if any of you have worked with the Cappuccino Bali Pop Jelly Roll by Hoffman Fabrics (or a similar line). I just received one by mail order from Hancocks and I love how contrasty the fabrics are - blacks and browns in some fabrics, pale yellow in others.

Then I got to thinking - I wonder if they're colour fast. Will the black bleed in the wash and spoil the look. Would appreciate it if you could share your experiences and recommendations.

I'll be watching this thread since I've wondered the same thing. BTW Cappuccino is the one I have my eye on. ;)

I've worked with a blues/greens/purples pop colleciton, some of which I used with a pure white -- no running whatsoever with those.

I would toss in a couple of color catchers just to be on the safe side :D:D:D

I haven't had any trouble with them, but I always toss a Shout brand dye sheet in the wash with quilts the first washing.

quiltsRfun PM me if you'd like me to take a photo of Cappucino out of the wrapping. It's very contrasty and even has a plain black in it. I love it but it wouldn't be for everyone.

best to put your strips into a mesh bag and pre-wash with a color-catcher...i used that same jelly roll...the blacks did not run...one (or more) of the browns did however. at least swish them in water at the sink and see if you find the culprit. i used them in a king size quilt that now has brown/tan streaks of color on the cream colored back... tried re-washing with the color catcher...too late...haven't figured out any remedy yet

    Thanks - will do.

Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and sorry to hear you haven't been able to get the colour run out of your cream backing.

There's a product you can add to the wash when you have a colour accident and it works a treat. Think it might be called Colour Rid here in Aus. I used it on a colour run I had that didn't come out after re-washing and after using this product my fabric was returned to its original state. I could hardly believe it.
