Has anyone used the batting made from recycled soda bottles? Did you like it? Was it easy to use? How did it wash after the quilt was done? It's about half the price of other batting and I'd like to try it but want to know what you think first.

I wonder if it melts really bad. Might want to find that out if using for kids blankets.

havent used the batting but have used yarn that is made from recycled plastic was soft, washed without shrinkage, I'd do a burn test before using in quilt. maybe first try a small project and wash

its called dream green- i have used it- it is like using a piece of fleece for your batting (and is the same materials as used in polar fleece)
it washes up just fine- is easy to stitch through- has held up well in the kids picnic/fort quilts-
the only down side i had was....it's green- so couldn't use it when the backing was very light- without a green tint showing through.

I just used it in my crumb quilt, I like it alot, it's a bit softer and loftier than the poly batt (fairfield?) that I was using, I would definitely buy it again.

I've used the Dream Green batting before and loved it. Would definitely use again. Was easy to stitch through and washed fine.

I've used Dream Green in several quilts, but like ckcowl said it's green & does show through light colored fabrics. It is easy to quilt & drapes beautifully. It is my batting of choice.

I saw a show on TV where they are also spinning the bottles into "threads" & putting that into T-shitrts...........not my kind of compty T shirt- probably melts some in the dryer & makes them itchy.

whool shmooly .. this is new to me.. and will not use it !

Chemical plant worker in the 60's and 70's... paying for that.. will not add plastic, which is an oil product for a dryer ever for my kidlets or future kidlets on purpose.. there may be some things I dont' know.. but not on purpose..

    whooly shmoolly.

    good luck with that.
