I was wondering what some of you use for lighting when doing handwork. I have used a headlamp which works fairly well but I thought I would ask if anyone uses glasses with lights on the side that illuminate the work. I have seen them with reading glasses strenght (1.50, 2.00, 2.25 ect..) If you have used them, your opinion would be appreciated. Thanks!

I use an Ott lamp with a goose neck - it provides a nicely lit field to work in.

Some people really like the Beam n Read Light - http://www.amazon.com/LED-Deluxe-Bri...m+n+read+light. I have one, but usually forget to get it out when I'm doing hand work.

I use a goose neck lamp but have often wondered how the glasses with the lights on the side work. I look forward to seeing the comments from individuals that use them.

I have seen a little light that clips on your glasses. It is a bright LED flashlight with a flexible wand so you can direct it where you are looking.

I use OTT lamps. I have tried the over the ear light that fits on your ear kind of like a Bluetooth BUT it ONLY illuminates a very small area. I prefer OTT lamps.

I like the little led lamps from Ikea. I like them so much I bought 2 more for myself, one for my friend Cindi, and one for my mom, who does hand embroidery in the evenings.

The lamps come in 3 models - table top, clamp-on, and floor. I have the table top version which costs $10. It is bright, the neck is flexible enough that I can adjust it but stiff enough so it stays right where I put it. My husband likes it because it doesn't blind everyone else in the room, and doesn't intrude on any tv-watching.

I have used those eyeglasses and liked them much better than that ungainly looking head thingy. I can take them out where ever I am and not look too weird. I use them whenever I stay overnite when one of my friends in the hospital. The eyeglasses light doesn't bother them as they sleep.

At home I just use my reading glasses and my ott type lamp.
