I made a Warm Wishes pattern for a friend with breast cancer. You could alternate special BC fabric with coordinating ones for the centers of the blocks if you want, depending on what size you make it.

Here is one. I love this pattern. Do a Google search and it will take you to the instructions. It is FREE.

Please be sure the recipient wants a quilt that identifies her as a patient/survivor. I have stayed far away from
any of the pink ribbons, fabrics, or easily identifiable as relating to breast cancer since my diagnosis 6 years ago. Just my thoughts.

I have to second this. I asked my niece if I could make her a quilt when she was diagnosed and she said yes, but anything but pink or the pink ribbons. I was so glad I had asked.

I am a breast cancer survivor and I did not want a "pink ribbon" quilt. In fact, I got pretty tired of all the pink ribbon gifts I received: earrings, hats, mugs, tee shirts etc. So before you go to all that work, be sure the person you are gifting it to wants a pink ribbon quilt. I made my own "survivor" quilt of brightly colored pinwheels and used a border of birds that included all the pinwheel colors. I even made a matching pillowcase for my many afternoon naps - that after over a year I still need!
