    Default California Dreaming

We are going on a two week wine vacation to California with my brother and sister-in-law. They know all the wineries from living there and have made all the arrangements. Quilt shops are definitely not on the agenda. BUT, a select few might be possible. We will be starting in Los Olivos, moving to Paso Robles, then Sonoma and finally Napa. Any suggestions for the best of the best quilt shops? I'm particularly interested in shops that may have different offerings from my East Coast shops.

Though I lived in the Bay Area for 30 years, I don't know any quilt shops north of the Bay. You should have an absolutely lovely time. Wine country is so great in the fall.

My favorite is Back Porch Fabrics in Pacific Grove on the Monterey Pennisula. Second Fav is Betty's in Santa Maria and San Luis Obispo.

I think the batiks place in Sonoma is gone now. I was lucky enough to shop at a warehouse sale there, but last time I tried to find it, I had no luck.

There is this one in Sonoma: http://www.broadwayquilts.com/

    This one in Petaluma: http://quiltedangel.com/

I think the only one in Napa closed...

Quilt Angel in Petaluma is really great and the town is cute too. Have a great time, the fall is the perfect time as the crush is in the air.
