Can I splice it?

I have used batting tape or zigzags to splice pieces of batting, but I am wondering if/how to combine smaller pieces and strips of Insul-Brite into a larger one. Or, should I just pin the pieces really close together. The resulting larger piece would mainly be used for table runners and potholders.
Thanks so much for your help!

I cut the edges with a rotary cutter and then butt the edges and zigzag them together. No one will ever know the difference, including you after the item is finished and on the table. froggyintexasOriginally Posted by dsch
