Default Clam Shell - this is the way I do it, any other suggestions?

I make the first row then start adding the second row. You do have to start with !/2 a shell on second row.

Yes I would assume so but you have to have a 1/4" extra for the side seam allowance.

Yes you do need a 1/4 seam allowance. I had to rip the red out and do it over. But it works for me. I made a 8 in. clam shell quilt, now I am working on the small one. I cut them out with A Go Cutter or I would never get them even. lol

This is all I have so far. Just using up some scraps. This is going to be for a friends dog. Not taking a lot of pains with it.

Don't you have to join a back and front before you can sew them together?
When I did mine I joined the back and fronts then sewed them onto backing your way.

I made a throw size using the Go Clam die. I glue basted them on a background, layered and then machined stippled them. It looks great and it's been washed many times, the edges are soft. I cut the edge clams to make a straight edge after quilting.

I have the die too, but not used yet. Are you hand or machine sewing? I watched sue dales tute, but she EPP, and now I wonder if these need to be the same?

You're doing a great job! Where did you get the pattern?
