As far as we know, these colour catchers are not available in Canada. We used to be able to buy Zero Dye Magnet to put in the wash, but not now. So glad I bought lots when they were in the discount bin.Originally Posted by Happy Tails
I never heard of them (I must lead a very sheltered life) so I understand they come in sheets, like dryer sheets? They go in the wash? Good Lord, I sound like a ding dong, lol

I just wash my reds separate, put on a second rinse and look ay the water. If it is red, I put more soap and do another full cycle. I only had to do that once, most of the time, the first wash with a second rinse is more than suffice. Never used a color catcher, another gimmick to get your money, never heard of those things ten years ago.

Good information - thanks for sharing!Originally Posted by feline fanatic
Just be aware, a color catcher will ONLY keep bleeds or excess dye from settling on other fabrics in the wash. They will not set dyes. So if you have a bleeder fabric it will still continue to bleed even after washing with a Shout Color Catcher. To set dyes you need to prewash in a product called Retayne. You may be able to find it at your LQS but best bet is to buy it on line.

I just love Shout Color Catcher. Go to their website & you can even get free coupons. I use Shout sheets with all of my regular laundry too.
