    Default Color catchers

I have finished washing a Christmas quilt with the Color Catchers. Do you think each time it is laundered they will need to be used?

If your color catcher came out clean, prob'ly be okay to wash without next time. If not, I'd use one until the quilt no longer loses dye into the water.

I always put one in every wash not matter what, just in case something decides to run.

I always toss in Color Catchers. I keep using them over and over till they are fairly dark with dye, then toss them.

Keep using them until no color appears on the catcher. Rather safe then sorry, especially if a lot of red is used in the quilt. It's heartbreaking to see colors bleed or run after you've invest so much time, love an $$ into a quilt. I often gift a package of the color catchers when I give away a quilt with vivid colors.

I also keep using them till they come out "clean". I always prewash a quilt before giving away, sometimes washing twice. If it still comes out with dyes, I give a box of color catchers with the quilt.

I agree with DottyMo. Throw one in with every wash.

Thanks - everyone will get some with their quilt. Love how questions are always answered here!
