I posted the link to the fabric manufacture Connecting Threads uses some time ago. It was a very impressive plant. Not third world or slave conditions. It is a plant known for it's quality and manufacturers for brand name clients. I'll see if I can find the link again. The thread is made at another plant, there are only so many plants that make thread no matter where they are. It's the client that specifies the quality of the thread, not the plant. It's easy to research on line where any fabric or thread is made.

    Found the link:

http://www.kaltex.com/compras.html click on About Grupo Kaltex

This is the fabric manufacturer that was being used for the lastest fabric lines.

Playtime, I think the code is good thru August, but not sure. Maybe someone else here knows for sure...but if not...You might want to take advantage of it as soon as possible.

OK, CT's website used to state that their goods were all made in North America. And we know that they're manufactured by Grupo Kaltex in Mexico.

That explains why they can charge a lot less for their fabrics, lower shipping costs because they don't use the mills in China and the printing plants in Korea and no distributor profit.

So here's a question; a) There are rumors that CT is lowering prices. b) There is no longer a statement on their website that their stuff is made in North America.

Where does that leave us? :?: :?: :?:

Seems they may have found a cheaper manufacturing source.

I dont fault them as long as their quality does not go down. It is a global market and if they still require manufacture to give a decent work place then I will still buy from them.
    From their website

Specifically, Connecting Threads works only with manufacturers who:

Institute management practices that respect the rights of all employees
Provide a safe and healthy work place
Promote the health and well-being of all employees
Oppose the use of child labor
Have an active role in the positive development of their local community

I've heard the thread is really awesome. How about the fabric? How does it compare with "quilt shop" quality fabrics?

I love the quality of their fabric and their customer service has always been top notch! Also, love the fact that all of the fabric is USA made and at a very reasonable price. I buy a lot from the sale section and have never been disappointed with any purchase.
As for piecing a border, it doesn't bother me-- by the time it is sandwiched and quilted it usually doesn't show.
