    Default Corduroy Quilt?

I have a stash of corduroy from my many years of sewing and wondered if I can make a quilt with it. Why not, right? It's cotton! Has anyone out there used corduroy in a quilt? Would it work in a rag quilt, or would the pile in the "wales" wash away so much that the quilt would not stable?

A friend of mine made a cordury quilt with flannel backing for her cabin - it looks really nice.

I remember my grandmother having a corduroy quilt. It was small pieces, probably 2" and it was tied, not quilted. I wonder what happened to that quilt......hmmmmm

I think it would make a wonderful quilt.

I like to use a mixture of flannel and corduroy in my rag quilts. Corduroy rags nicely and kids like to touch the different textures.

I started a quilt, then realized it was going to be too small, so I had some corduroy the right colors and used that. Used a navy as sashing and inner border, and a plaid corduroy as the main border. Turned out great! Did soak in vinegar for a while and then washed it a few times to soften it up as it was stiff at first and I wanted it soft.

I have used corduroy in a quilt before and it worked well. The quilt was heavy so I used flannel for the batting.

My mom made a corduroy quilt out of scraps she got from the local sewing plant. The colors were red and green, don't know what pattern she made and I think she tied it. It was very pretty and soft. I would like to have had it when she passed but I was not the lucky one.

It would be warm and soft and snugly. Don't think you need to worry about the nap wearing too quickly, since you probably wouldn't wash it as often as clothing. And if you vary the nap direction, it will add visual interest, I think.
