I had several "country" prints that seemed to have no future in my stash, so I decided to make a scrappy snowball quilt. I figured it might not be the prettiest thing, but would certainly work for a picnic blanket.
The first pics are semi-close-ups of some of the prints. Some had auditioned for kitchen or laundry room curtains....a couple actually made it.
My first layout was completely random, and I didn't like it. I am much happier with the final layout. If you take a step back, you'll see there is a square (set on point) of light colored blocks centered in the quilt, and the dark colored blocks are arranged a bit like X's around that light center square
I like it better than expected, but now I'm in a pickle regarding the quilting....but I won't whine about it here.
    Thanks for looking!

I really like your quilt. When I looked at the picture and squinted I could see the design that you spoke of. Great scrappy.

What a great quilt!! Love that you were able to use up the country fabrics that you had. Gives it a scrappy look.
