Default Curtains in Your Sewing Room

About ten years ago I found this polyester lace at a fabric store that already had holes in it that I could use to put a tension rod through for a valance. I've never taken them down to wash them, and they still look the same as the day I put them up.

I just have cheap panels with scattered buttons sewn on. I love lace, but son wont have them, but when my house is finished up they go.

I made quilted curtains for my sewing room. I keep them rolled up all summer, but in the winter I close them at night. They fit inside the window frame on a tension rod.

Here's a tutorial on how to make "professional" drapes:

Well as you can see I am very eclectic and hang everything over my windows, but I made the light filtering shades and then hung a lacey kind of curtain in front of them. The shades keep the direct sun off my fabric and keep the room from supper heating in the summer and warmer in the winter.

Oh, those are pretty! I may have to rethink my "no curtains" position in the half bath and the kitchen.

No curtains, just blinds, need all the light I can get. Must say though that all my curtains are made by me.

My sewing room has to double as a guest room, too. I have a floral swag and woven shades. When sewing, shades are pulled up behind swag for maximum light. As a guest room, the shades are lower as needed for privacy.
