Diagonal Fussy Cut squares ?

Can/should diagonally Fussy Cut squares be used with straight cut squares? I have a print with large pieces that are on the straight and some on an angle. I would like to use them if it would not create a problem with the the blocks/seams.

or even if you have pre-washed---not quite sure why that (stipulation was put here?
i prewash all the time- i also starch when i need to - has nothing to do with pre-washing or not-
the only difference i know of between pre-washed and not- is when you pre-wash you remove the sizing that the manufacturer added to the fabric during processing.

I have a couple of suggestions.
1. When you sew the blocks together, try to sew a bias grain side of the block to a straight grain side of another block.
2. Put the straight grain block on top under the needle to help prevent stretching.
