Use batting tape! It's fabulous stuff and a roll goes a long, long way.

Hi, I do keep scraps of batting, because I can piece them together to for Project Linus quilts and vet quilts. I realize sometimes it seems like I'm being taken over by scraps of fabric and batting

I keep mine, not sure what I will do with some of the really small ones, but as far as some of it, I have joined them together to use on the back of my crazy quilt squares...love the idea of using for ornaments, etc...

I just spent sometime this weekend zigzagging all my scrap batting pieces together! Taking the little ones and made potholders batting (cotton) and baby doll bankets. Enough scraps left for doggie pillows. Keeping some for dusting!

Personally, I am quite happy with zigzagging the pieces together. I have enough now for 13 charity quilts, lap sizes.

I keep mine, join them together for small quilts, wallhangings, and tablerunners.
The smallest I use for mug rugs or potholders.

I would never join them, but I save every little bit, in case I am ever doing a small project. Don't do it often, but have come in handy. Then it was the time when I ran out of filtering material for the fish tank. I had already ran out of pillow filling material, so a little of the recycled plastics bottles and I had enough at the filter to hold it for a few days.

I've saved even small pieces of batting, and stitched them together on my machine. It's been the bamboo batting, and it's very obvious where the pieces are sewn together. So far I haven't used any of those pieces, so can't really say what it would look like under the fabric. I'm afraid it would be just as obvious with the fabric over it.
If I had large pieces, I think I'd go ahead and use the new tape they have just for that purpose. Otherwise, I'm not sure I'd bother saving it... but that's just me....

I save them for rag quilts. People say they are good for stuffing pillows and stuff so I think I'm going to try doing that too. It is too expensive to waste.

i square them up first..then

i butt them together, using a SITD foot, and zigzag. i use warm and natural 98% of the time, so it is easy to stitch them together. i usually do enough at one time to make it worth my time.

if i used other battings,like polys..i would try the tape. you really don't need it with the batting i use.

One of my Guilds make pillows for the girls from BETA at Christmas and I use my small pieces for stuffing in those pillows.
