    Default Dupioni Silk--back fabric?

I just bought a dozen duping silk fat quarters to make a very simple quilt to show off the fabrics. Do I need to use a light fusing on the back prior to cutting my fabric into squares? Someone told me it can ravel terribly if I don't. If so, any suggestions on type of fusing?

I've used some Pellon 906F on silk and it worked great. Stayed soft and supple and prevented fraying. Wasn't for a whole quilt though, just some random blocks throughout the quilt.

I would use a fusible. Dupioni ravels like crazy. If you don't use a fusible, you have to use really wide seams. Do all your pinning in the seam allowance because the pin holes won't go away, and you will need to pin because silk will slip.

I've always used a lightweight woven fusible interfacing on the back of silks. makes cutting much easier- and all the handling. well worth the extra effort.
