Default Elephant, yes or no to the black??

Do you thing the black would look ok in my elephant quilt? It will be used for eyes and ears? Thank you.

Which pattern is it? If the ears are full out, I think black might over power the body. Pretty fabrics!

Too high contrast. A grey or a blue/grey would look better if you want to go dark.

I'd do grey ears, dark grey or brown eyes. Otherwise all attention goes straight to black.

Perhaps you could use that dark green for the eyes.

The eyes are fairly small so it should not overpower. What you might consider (if the ears are very big) is to quilt over the black with a variegated green/blue thread. Maybe multiple echo stitching lines within the ears. This could tone down a large area of black.
