    Default Elna serger

I have an Elna serger, about 25 yrs old, and the other day when I threaded it up the needle went up and down but it refused to advance. Tried threading it with 3 threads . . .same problem. Then 5 threads . . .no dice! Refused to go forward. Any ideas out there as to what's wrong?

Sounds like the feed dogs are not working. If there is a throat plate you can remove, that will let you see if there is lint packed in the feed dogs that should be removed. You would want to remove the foot and needle(s), and slide the blade out of the way, before taking the throat plate off.
