Discovered unfinished quilt top in deceased Mother's things. Prob. from 1920-30 era. Top is 4in. squares, prints and solids, all pale colors, really pretty. Needs backing. How to apply? Would tying look good? I love the old fashioned look of that. Looks like material used was whatever was available, as some of the squares are made up of 1x4 in. pcs. Solid color border, or otherwise, do you think? Grateful for any help.

Oh, for the border- do you have any older fabric?? Or even muslin?
I would try to make it blend well with her fabrics if you can.

Tied my 1930's quilt used muslin for the border and back--- it is so warm and the prints are one of a kind! Enjoy!
