I just watched the Pillow Case Tube Method tutorial on you tube (yesterday's post, I think). Great little tutorial and worthwhile cause.

That said, I'm wondering where she got that extra long acrylic ruler? The longest ruler I own is only 24 1/2". I could swear that what was used on this tutorial was much longer than that. Does anyone know where I can purchase an extra long acrylic ruler for rotary cutting?

If all you need is a straight edge, you can go to your local glass shop and get plexiglass cut to any length you want.

Measure your fabric with your ruler, lay this straight edge against it, remove the ruler and cut :D:D:D

I just purchased a 4"x36" ruler with a lip on it from my lqs. It is made by O'lipfa and is called a Lip Edge ruler...the lip sits on the edge of your cutting mat and doesn't move..it's IMHO a really great ruler...

Actually, for a long ruler, I purchased a t-square at the hardware store. Love that the end fastens over the edge of the table and that its 48" long.

I have the 4x36 also, and wouldn't be without it. Great for cutting large pieces. :)

Thanks, Brenda, for the info. The 36" length sure looks like what they used in the tutorial. I just ordered it online.

Awsome, I don't think you will be disappointed...I like the fact that it catches on the end of the cutting mat....price is right also.....

I bought a 4 by 36 inch ruler with 40% off coupon at JoAnns and I love it I use it more than any other ruler.

I love my ruler with a lip also. makes it so much easier for rotary cutting. I keep trying to convince my mom to get one, but she hasn't yet.
