I went over to Michaels today for some scrapbooking and beading supplies and walked back to the "sewing area" and they have started carrying fabric...not alot but what they had was cute...it looks like they were re-doing the store and in the past, the sewing area has consisted of about 5 colors of thread, scissors, mats, rotary cutters and a small section of books, sometimes they have pins and needles but not always...they also had a much larger section of thread to match the fabrics they got in....looked at a few...didn't feel too bad...will have to check them out better the next time I go....they had bolts, layer cakes, charms packs and mini jelly rolls and then plains to match each grouping.

How exciting! I hope my nearest Michaels decides to carry some fabric...always nice to have another option!

Interesting.... We have Michaels her in Ontario too, They have a fairly decent notions area for sewing, also Olfa mats and rulers. I wonder if they will start carrying fabric?

Interesting. Hobby Lobby moved in across the street from our Michaels and JoAnn's is a couple of blocks away. Not sure if they would start carrying fabric there or not. Thanks. Will have to check it out.

Every Michael's I have been at have a few fat quarters hidden in a small corner of the store. The fabric is not the best quality and they are pre-folded around card board that is not acid free. If they are not on sale they can be very expensive too.

I hope that my Michaels will start having their own fabric section soon. Then my craft addictions will be at a one stop shopping :-) :-)

Awesome. We are getting a Michael's, it is supposed to be opening early next month. I hope ours has fabric. We have one fabric store in town and a store that specializes in upholstry fabric but also has cotton remenants that are bad but it would be nice to have more of a selection.
