Hi all! Just wanted to share my joy in finding out that the small fabric department in my Walmart is NOT going to be eliminated. I bought a yard of fabric for a project I'm starting and asked the girl who cut it if they were going to get rid of the fabric. She said no  and added that "so many people have been asking that!" So while there isn't a lot of fabric to choose from, I'm happy that Walmart will be available to me for some quilting and crochet items!! Yay!!!

My local Wal-Mart is being renovated at this time and according to the head guy of the project this will be done to all the Wal-Mart’s through out the US and they will be made the same. (It has been a night mare, one day stuff is here and another day its over there.) But from what the guy told me all the Wal-Mart’s will have a craft/fabric section in them now. Even those that they have just taken them out of, will get them back. So if you live in Maine and go to Washington State for vacation that store will look just the same on the inside as yours back home. Copy cat style is how he put it. So be patient its coming.

Just to let you know if you had a really big selection before it will be some what smaller. I just bought 5 and 1/2 yards of heavy flannel for $1.74 yard. So look carefully when they come to your Wal-mart the prices are great while they thin out and change stock then they go up when they are done.

Our Wal Mart got rid of the fabric department. What did JoAnn's do? Yep, raised their prices! It just makes me so darn mad! If it isn't broke, don't fix it! LOL

I'm working in a Wal Mart that is going through a remodel. They took the Fabric away that they had to cut, but put in an 8 foot wall that had precut fabric. Each piece is cut in a 2 yd piece. I guess that is better than nothing, but not good enough. We need to keep on Wal Mart to keep fabric. Call 1-800-WALMART. Let them know how you feel.
