I recently bought a few rolls at Joann's (50% off), but haven't tried it yet-though I hear many people love it. It looks lovely and soft-much like Warm and Natural, I think. Can't wait to try it! I got the 80/20.

I think that's what I bought last time. I like the 80/20 ok. I have to be careful with the edges when I'm quilting or they pull out of shape some, not too bad though.

I used it for the first quilt that I hand quilted, many years ago. More recently I have used Hobbs 80/20. The Fairfield wasn't as nice as Hobbs. It was a bit uneven, with raggedy edges. Possibly it has changed over the years. I really like the Hobbs.

I tried it many years ago and must say I don't like it. Compared to the Hobbs 80/20, which I really like, the Fairfield is bonded quite heavily and and wasn't so easy to needle while handquilting. Like roselady mentioned it was uneven and also fuzzy. But maybe they changed the quality over the years and it is better now.

Fairfield used to have a batting called Soft Touch that I really liked, but I have not been able to find it for quite some time. I did recently use the one sold by Joanns stores and I didn't really care for it. If you are looking for batting for hand quilting I would highly recommend Quilters Dream Cotton. The request & select loft are wonderful to hand quilt.

yes i've tried it...no i don't like it...but i know lots of quilters who do like it. it just does not work for me for the type of quilting i do i guess. i always tell people, if you want to know -- try it ---what i hate you may love, and what i love you may hate...only you can decide what batts are best for you.
