Perhaps you remember my buying and cleaning up a sweet little Featherweight named Birdie. I bought her not knowing if she sewed a stitch since she had no belt and the cords were all frayed. She does sew now, and is smooth and soothing to the ears. Yeah!!!:-P However, she seems "putzier" than my 301 and I'm wondering if that's to be expected. I had heard they sewed very similarly, but i swear she seems to sew a little slower...Do you think I have the belt too loose? Or should I check something else? Or should I not worry about it? :?:

Sometimes that is due to the foot pedal. I bought a new foot pedal and now my baby flies.

My white FW is much more sluggish than my black 222 - I'm not sure why that is either, cos the 222 is a lot older.

I have a private message regarding this sent to Billy in search of answers. I'll let you know what his ideas are. Thanks for all your input.
