    Default Gingher Scissor Sharpening -

Have any of you sent your Gingher's back to Gingher for sharpening or fixing/

Can they fix scissors that have been "messed up" by another entity?

A friend experienced this "messed up" and sent them to Gingher. They couldn't be fixed.

I did several years ago. I dropped them on a concrete floor and messed them up. They sent them back good as new. I guess it depends on how bad they are
    damaged.

I think this is true. I've heard that if someone has sharpened them incorrectly, they can't be fixed, but I don't know that for a fact.

I just had a pair of Wiss sharpened at JAF and for $7.50 they did a perfect job but mine was not damaged. You could take them there on their next sharpened day and talk to the man yourself. I had these scissors about 45 years and this was the first time I got them sharpened. The sharp point was always good and he sharped it well. I am very pleased.

I only let Gingher sharpen my Gingher scissors. I have had friends that got into trouble letting anyone else sharpen them. Some have had theirs redone successfully by Gingher and others have not been so lucky.

What is the address of Gingher? I've never thought of sending my ginghers to them. So far, I've been really lucky in having a third party sharpen my shears.

If you go to gingher.com, I'm sure the address and instructions for sending them back will be there.

In the past, I have sent my Gingers back to Ginger for sharpening and it was very successful. However, it seems I heard a year or so ago that Fiskers had bought out Gingers. I haven't tried to send any back to be sharpened since then. I will be interested to learn if the service is still as good.
