    Default Got To Crow

Morning all, I just have to brag a little bit. I have been barely quilting because I've been so overwhelmed with projects. Yesterday I finally took myself in hand and started clearing off the table. Hemmed two pairs of jeans first. Why two? Because someone needs to go on a diet and her usual ones are feeling a little snug. The diet starts this week too.

Next I took the three projects I'd started from a guild class and finished the original quilt, which needed binding machine sewed on. Worked on hand sewing last night and it's almost done. Then I used up all the leftover blocks and scraps and finished the two charity quilts (crib size). These were works in process, but needed sashing, borders etc. I'm longarming them today.

The whole pile is significantly reduced. Whew! Next on the agenda is a table topper (think quilted fit to size table cloth) for my sister's motor home. Individual placemats are awkward, esp when you need to add a hotpot square too. Pattern and fabric is all ready to go. I'm going to add elastic strips on four corners like you find on bottom sheet so it stays in place. Hope this works like we envision it.

I can't believe how just getting those easy little projects out of the way brightened my mood. Off to sew. Yeah!

Sometimes it's alright to crow! Congrats on finishing some UFO's. I find that setting a goal and getting started gives you momentum to keep going..

Definitely you deserve credit and kudos for not letting things pile up any longer. Good for you! It feels good to get it all organized and dealt with, doesn't it?

Great start to the new year.

I love the idea for your sister's RV table. Do you mind if I steal it? My RV' table is too small for 4 place mats, although I do have some made out of shelf liner, which allows things to stay put on the road.

I know about those tight pants. My eating is ok now, but I need to get off my duff and start moving.

I gathered up all my UFO and put them in bags with instructions on each one. I put in the donation box at Salvation Army and promptly forgot what was in it. It feels good to be free to start again. LOL Most were class and workshop projects that were fun to learn a new pattern. I don't feel guilty at all to get rid of my unfinished work. I know someone will be happy to find them at a bargain price.
