I am making a quilt that call for strips like 4-7/8" and 2-7/8", etc. My question is that I dont have any rulers with 7/8" on them. What and how do I get one. I am desperate and thanks for everyone's help.

It's just a smidge under the inch mark.

Many of us cut these strips at 5" and 3"

Typically, you will be cutting squares out of these strips. And then cutting them in half, for half sq triangles. Once these blocks are sewn, you can then square them up to the correct size. :D:D:D

I have several of them. One is: Broken Arrows on www.quilterscache.com. It is the 10" block

Most recently made quilt rulers have a little slash for 7/8" marker.
They are easily available at your local Joann's store.

I'm going to assume that the directions call for cutting the squares in half to make triangles after you cut the strips, right?

Do you have a picture of the finished quilt (or pattern name)?

If you can post it, there are better, smarter ways to make the same shapes you need (without needing the 7/8" marker).

For this block you can cut 5" squares, makes your half square triangles, and then square it up to 4 1/2".

All of the suggestions are great, some people use Thangles, and then you can get the 7/8ths ruler from Creative Grids, google them and you might find one. I have used it to do triangle cutting, but the easier method is to round up to the whole inch, cut the strip and then square-up afterwards.

Most rulers are marked in eighths. They just don't label them. An inch is 8/8, so 7/8 is just 1/8 less.

Thank you everyone, I found a lip edge ruler that has 7/8" on it. Sometimes I overlook the lttle things.
