Blues and turquoise are the compliment to orange and make a wonderful contrast. This site has some pretty examples: https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&....0.pyAGuCF9vcw

I've not seen it in quilts, but orange and purple work in flower arranging.

If you want a lighter, summery look you could use pink.

Not sure what you are going for in terms of brightness but brown and yellow would make a pretty braid. I don't care for brown all that much but next to orange it's very appealing.

I used navy blue & gray with Orange that made a striking quilt. It was a baby quilt I made to go with the nursery colors and in spite of my original misgivings, it was really lovely.

I don't follow the color wheel. I usually pick a print and pick colors out of it. I am not into modern type quilts and colors.

Navy blue makes the orange pop...I have a quilt my great grandmother made using navy, bright orange, and ivory. It’s my favorite quilt.
