I also have used Luana Rubin's Equilter several times. If you have a very specific need you can usually find it within a reasonable time on her site. I needed dragons... and I had my choice. Music, and there are pages of choice. Batiks? go for it....

The pictures on the site are very accurate and have been exactly what I had expected. Service has been fast. Good site.

I was mistaken - I said equilter (they are great)

but the site I meant was quiltshops.com that has about 200 shops connected and you can ask about something and have that many shops to pull from.

I also go to quiltshops.com for most of my fabric. Last week I was looking for a fabric and needed 4 yards. I shopped every store and the price for the same piece ranged from $5.29 a yard to $10.99 a yard! I always find the best deal and usually what I am looking for is a newer fabric. Just try it but it does take a little more time to check all the shops. I think it is worth it.

They don't have a huge selection, but every now and then I find exactly what I want at 5bucksayard.com . It's all first quality, name brand, etc, maybe just a season or two older, and it's always $5.00 or less a yard!

Being in Australia where fabric can be as much as $30+ a metre I thought I would try ordering online. With nervousness I ordered from E-quilter. Service was great, fabrics are wonderful (have just made a cot quilt from purchased fabric), price was fantastic, especially with the Australian dollar at the moment. Their site is easy to navigate and I just LOVE their design board.
I have just been organising my next order. By ordering online the fabric has worked out about half price (with postage factored in)

I just used Eleanor, the Quilt in a day person and, while I haven't gotten my order yet (I'm not home as I write this) her web site is a mess! I put things in my shopping cart with the intention of deleting the ones of similars that I didn't like as much and I couldn't do it!!!!! So be careful.
