I'd use the left, but probably make a different border...either piano keys, or something like squares on point, etc (maybe).

Yes, I agree, the fabric on the left! But, I know what you mean about fabric you just have to buy. I have a few yards of those fabrics in my stash that called to me and I had to buy them. I still have those, and I don't know if I'll ever have the nerve to part with them. Lovely quilt, BTW, it will surely be appreciated.

I would use the one on the left, the other has a beige in it that I don't care for in this quilt top.

The blue one is far better since you have used it in the quilt. A narrow red stripe before the blue wouldn't hurt either - even just a solid red of an inch.
