Help!

I'm a new quilter and made a huge mistake. Joined the blocks in a baby quilt (cotton) using 1/8 seam allowance instead of 1/4 seam allowance. Didn't realize until the quilt top was done including both inner and outer borders. Now what do I do? I hate the thought of ripping apart the whole thing and starting over, but then again, I don't want it to come apart the first time it's washed either. I'd appreciate any help you could give.

many commercially made (mass produced) quilts are done with 1/8" seams. if the fabric is sturdy, it'll be fine.
just to be on the safe side, get some Fray Block (by june tailor) or Fray Check and treat all the seams with it. do it on the back, of course. i prefer the Fray Block because it come out of the tube more easily than Fray Check comes out of the bottle. much faster application and don't need as much.
they both dry clear.

You could reinforce the seams with a decorative top stitch (feather stitch, zigzag, etc.). You can even quilt it with a decorative top stitch over the seams. This would probably be my finishing of choice if the fabric is flannel.
