    Default help with thread

What brand and weight of thread do you use to quilt your quilts. Tried a 30 weight but took it out.
    Thanks,
    Judy

I quilt by longarm, usually using a tri-lobal polyester 40wt thread.

For machine quilting, my favourite is a trilobal polyester 40 wt with a bit of sheen. I prefer polyester because it doesn't fuzz like cotton in the bobbin area. I use a matching 60 wt on the bobbin, only because I can wind more onto my bobbin, and matching because tension issues are less noticible.

Yellowroses, you will love their thread. I use it and have had the great results with their Glide, Permasoft spools and Magna Glide bobbins. Their customer service is great. I also love Omni thread by Superior. It has the look of cotton with the strength of poly and no lint.

Bobbin central no longer sells retail. You must have a wholesale account with reseller tax ID and the initial minimum order is now up to $100 subsequent orders are $50 (which is actually pretty easy for me to do ). There are loads of retailers that now carry Glide. Metro Embroidery https://metroemb.com/store/index.php?route=common/home in addition to their own trilobal polyester, also carries Glide.

King tut, isacord depends on the quilting if you want it to not be noticeable you can go light like invisifil or silk. Heavier weight if you want more noticeable like king tut is 40wt
