    Well, back in the olden days my mother used a single edge razor blade to remove stitches. If you can't find single edge blades, take painters tape and tape off one side of a double edge blade to use for as a handle (sort of). I use a razor blade when the stitches are so small you can't really see them. I have used the mustache trimmer too but the stitches have to be big enough to easily see.
