I keep seeing a comment on "1930s fabric". How do you identify 1930s fabric? Recently I bought a lot of fabric from an estate; most of it is not marked on selvedge; it is imprinted all the way to the edge. One piece has a 1989 reference for printing. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Original feedsacks - 1930's will have have holes on the sides (selvages) where it was tied with string... plus they are thicker and the weave of the fabric is more pronounced..

I hosted a 1930 reproduction swap . check out the link for some pictures .. http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-114192-2.htm

30's fabrics tend to be colorful- with cute prints- with alot of white-
if you simply search 30's vintage fabrics you will find thousands of them....there are a number of shops that (specialize) in vintage fabrics
connecting threads carries a few lines of 30's-
quilt in a day (elenor burns) also has a few patterns& fabrics using them...they are pure colors- sometimes pastel-some times brighter- but clear color- not muted or dark
