Default how do I make this into a cushion cover, please?

I want to use this (Liberty hexagons) for a cushion cover and don't know where to start. I'm guessing that I need to applique it onto a backing fabric? And do I sandwich and quilt that or use it as it is? Any help very welcome!

I would applque it to a background and go from there. If you quilt it first, it will have a nice cushy look to it. Just layer it, quilt it and then assemble your cushion cover.

you could machine stitch it onto a backing. first, I would measure the cushion you want to cover + add seam allowances + cut a top & bottom. you could sandwich it if you want. I would google cushion covers!http://www.allaboutyou.com/craft/sew...cushion-covers

Thanks for the help - this is just what I wanted to know. I will quilt it to give it a bit more durability, as the fabric is very flimsy. I'm going to have to overcome a long-held fear of applique! The friend who helped me with my very first quilt persuaded me to do some applique and it was such a struggle that I've never done it since!
