I finally did it. I did a binding all on my own (no help from my wonderful husband that steps in right before my head explodes!) and even hand stitched the back. Take longer, but really does make it nice and clean. I think I am being slowley converted to a quick get it done type of sewer, to a take some extra time, pull some stitches, and be really happy at then end :)

Congratulations! It sure is a great feeling of accomplishment when you get that binding hand stitched on a quilt. Good job!

Congrats. I don't like binding either. Takes too long and I just want to be done.

I like doing the hand finished sewing on the back for the binding. I like the very clean, neat look of it. I know that if you are going to enter a quilt for any judged show you have to do it that way. My mom usually hems mine for me..she does it while watching TV (she's 85), and I work full time so have trouble finding time to do it.

Yes Congratulations! It's great to master a skill. And finally having the courage to pull out stitches when needed and go for the perfect finish is a big accomplishment.

Congrats!!! I love to do binding because it means my quilt is almost finished, but it does take me a few minutes to figure out how to sew my ends together so that they come out right.

I find hand sewing the binding on is so rewarding - the last step to a finsihed project and my head it spinning about the new project I want to start.

Congrats! I have yet to hand sew a binding on. I guess I will have to do that one of these days!
